Cyber defence specialist restructures its management team
In order to strengthen growth in the area of IT security services and to accelerate the development of new products, G DATA CyberDefense AG is expanding its executive board and will in future bundle responsibility for sales, marketing and corporate communications under Frank Heisler. The previous board members are remaining with the company.
Experienced manager Frank Heisler is now a member of the executive board at G DATA CyberDefense. He is thus supporting existing board members and G DATA founders Andreas Lüning and Kai Figge in their work. Heisler will in future be responsible for the Sales, Marketing and Corporate Communications functions. As Chief Financial Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer, Kai Figge will be responsible for the company's long-term financing and the recruitment of skilled employees. As CTO, Andreas Lüning will once again focus more on product development.
Hendrik Flierman will be Vice President Global Sales & B2B Marketing going forwards. This will see him integrating management of and responsibility for sales and B2B marketing. Ralf Hilker is responsible for G DATA's entire product range, as Vice President Product Development.
The IT security market is developing very dynamically and is in a constant process of change. Due to the challenges ahead, we have decided to distribute the work of the executive board among several heads. Frank Heisler is the ideal person for this, because he knows the IT security industry like no other.
G DATA has comprehensively strengthened its position in recent years with a broad portfolio of security solutions and services. With its subsidiary G DATA Advanced Analytics, the company is one of the few BSI-qualified APT response service providers in Germany that can manage and resolve even complex security incidents with its qualifications. In addition, G DATA is active as a player in the field of security awareness training - a centrally important topic for companies, especially given the widespread home office situation.
Heisler had already served as a member of the executive board at the Bochum-based security company, from 2006 to 2014. In the meantime, he has been managing director of G DATA Service GmbH.

Frank Heisler will be supported by an experienced team in his new area of responsibility. Reporting directly to him in future will be Hendrik Flierman (VP Global Sales and B2B Marketing), Hauke Gierow (Head of Corporate Communications) and Tom Rüther (Head of Digital and Brand Marketing).
